A Reformed-Baptist seminary (1689 Confession) in Lagos, Nigeria, committed to preparing men and women for faithful ministry.
Who We Are
Holding to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, GTS exists to train men and women for faithful ministry. Through our partner, Grace Bible University (GBU), we offer the Certificate of Ministry, the Associate Degree of Ministry, and the Bachelor's degrees in Theology and Ministry.
Faithful to Scripture. Scripture is held to be the supreme authority in every area of life — the individual, the family, the church, society, and government.
Open to all. Admission is open to both male and female, of any age and any religious persuasion.
Biblically tailored. Our training program is tailored according to the Bible's guidelines for ministry preparation — informing our purpose, curriculum, and faculty.
Introduction & Purpose
The world is in desperate need of faithful ministers of the gospel — men and women who know the Word of God, love the Lord Jesus Christ, and are able to teach others also. GTS exists to answer that need.
Our purpose is to prepare servants of God according to the Bible's own guidelines for ministry preparation. We believe God has given the church a clear pattern for training its leaders, and we seek to follow that pattern faithfully.
"Commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." — 2 Timothy 2:2

Our Mission
Our method of preparing men and women is grounded in Scripture itself.
1
Sound biblical teaching for the mind, so that students know the truth and can defend it. (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
2
Personal reflection that shapes the heart, cultivating a life of prayer and devotion to Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:6–16)
3
Faithful training under godly mentors, preparing students to entrust the Word to the next generation. (2 Timothy 2:2; Matthew 28:19–20)
Philosophy of Education
GTS adopts the philosophy of education of Grace Bible University, which is based upon a Christian theistic world-and-life view — an inclusive philosophy of life that derives consistently from the Scriptures.
This is the first and overshadowing presupposition for a truly biblical approach to education. There is no higher authority for man in knowledge and reasoning. God is absolute, and his revelation comes to man with absolute authority; it is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and all-sufficient Word of God.
The supreme authority
Scripture is held to be the supreme authority in every area of life for the individual, the family, the church, society, and government.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
From truth to life
Education is not merely the transfer of information; it is the formation of a whole person whose thinking and living are brought into line with the truth of God.
For the whole of life
Our philosophy touches every course we teach and every relationship we build — because the Christian worldview is an inclusive philosophy of life.
Confession of Faith
GTS is a Reformed-Baptist seminary that holds faithfully to the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689).
Committed to the historic Reformed doctrines of grace — God's sovereignty in salvation and his glory in all things.
Convicted of believers' baptism and the congregational government of the local church according to Scripture.
Standing in the stream of historic Baptist confessional theology, teaching what faithful Baptists have believed for centuries.
